How it works

From hello to live, mostly done by us.

Most owners spend about 30 minutes in total. We do the homework, you never share a password, and you pay nothing until you approve your site.

The path

Seven steps. Most of them are ours.

The same for everyone, whether you have a website today or not.

  1. Say hello

Reply to our email, or put your name, email and brand into the form. That's all we need to start.

    You · 2 min
  2. We do the homework

We read your approved labels, your current site, listings and social pages. We look up where your domain is registered and who runs your email, so you don't have to. On the Marketing plan, we also start any Google or Facebook access requests now, so those waits run while we build.

    Us
    We find ourselves
    • Your products, types and alcohol content, from your labels
    • Where your domain is registered
    • Who runs your email
    • Your shop, club and booking services
  3. Your preview, with a few questions

Within 3 business days you get a working site on a private link, with anything we couldn't confirm clearly marked. The same email asks the few things only you know, like your hours and who approves the site. Forward the link to your partners.

    Usually all we ask
    • Hours and anything we marked "to confirm"
    • What visitors should do first
    • Who approves, and who holds the card
  4. Sign up

Like the preview? Your approver replies "approved" and adds a card through a secure link. Nothing is charged before this point. In the same email, pick how you'd like to go live.

  5. Make it yours

The free preview is as-is. Once you've signed up, send whatever you'd like different and we make the changes before anything goes live.

    You · a few minutesUs
  6. Go live

First we copy every setting your email, shop and bookings depend on, and confirm them with you. Then your domain points to the new site, and we test your email, your shop links and every page on a phone. Your old site stays up until the switch.

Add us as a userWhere your domain company allows it, invite us and we do the rest. About 2 minutes.

  7. Keep it running

Email us any change: new release, new hours, an event. We show you before it goes live. Cancel your old website plan only once we tell you it's safe.

Your setup

Find your situation.

What we do, what you do, and what we watch for, depending on where you're starting from.

No website yet

We do

  • Build your first site from your labels, photos and socials
  • Suggest a few good web addresses that are free to buy
  • Connect the address and set up search basics

You do

  • Buy the web address in your business's name, usually $10–$20 a year, paid to the domain company
  • Send phone photos if you have them

We watch for

  • Names close to another drinks brand
  • Email: if you'd like [email protected], we set it up with Google or Microsoft, billed to you by them

Squarespace, Wix or GoDaddy

We do

  • Rebuild from your current site, keeping what works
  • Point your old page addresses to the new pages, so Google results keep working
  • Change your domain's settings where it already lives. No transfer needed

You do

  • Pick a go-live option: our steps for your builder, or add us as a user
  • Cancel the old plan only when we say it's safe

We watch for

  • Email or a domain that came bundled with the plan. Cancelling can end them, so we move them first
  • Prepaid yearly plans: no rush to cancel, the switch doesn't depend on it

Your website is your store

We do

  • Keep your store, club and checkout exactly where they are, on WineDirect, Commerce7, Shopify, Square or similar
  • Move your store to its own address, like shop.yourwinery.com, before the switch
  • Link every "Shop" and "Join the club" button straight to it

You do

  • Approve one support request to your store provider, which we draft for you

We watch for

  • The store's own address and security certificate working before anything moves, so checkout never goes down
  • Club sign-up and order links from old emails

WordPress, a developer or an agency

We do

  • Work from your public site. We don't need their files or logins
  • Write the short note asking them to hand over domain access
  • Redirect your old pages so search rankings carry over

You do

  • Send that note to them, and check any notice period in your contract

We watch for

  • A domain registered in their name or account. It should be yours, and we help you get it moved
  • Who owns your Google listing, Facebook Page and ad accounts

Facebook, Instagram or a link page only

We do

  • Build your first real site from your posts, photos and labels
  • Point your Instagram bio link and Facebook button to it

You do

  • Buy a web address in your business's name
  • Keep posting as you do now

We watch for

  • A personal profile being used instead of a business Page, which we help you convert
  • Instagram set to a personal account, which blocks scheduling

New brand, not launched yet

We do

  • A launch page from your approved labels: what's coming, where it will be sold, and an email sign-up
  • Grow it into the full site as products reach shelves

You do

  • Tell us your launch timing and states

We watch for

  • Showing only labels that are already approved
  • Where-to-buy wording that follows your state's rules on naming retailers

Importer, distributor or trade-only brand

We do

  • A site for buyers: your portfolio, producers, sell sheets and a trade contact form
  • A simple "where to find us" page instead of consumer shop buttons

You do

  • Send your current price book or sell sheets, if you'd like them online

We watch for

  • Prices and terms you'd rather keep behind a request form
Hiccups

What usually slows people down, and what we do about it.

"I don't know where our domain was bought."

We look it up and tell you, along with how to log in or recover the account.

Our domain is in an old agency's, ex-employee's or relative's name.

We write the request asking them to hand it over, and walk you through the domain company's recovery process if they don't reply.

Our email runs through the old host or website plan.

We keep it working exactly where it is, and tell you before you cancel anything that it depends on.

Settings we can't see from outside.

Before the switch we ask for a copy of your current domain settings and check them line by line, so email and store links don't break.

We bought or moved our domain recently.

Domains can't change companies for 60 days after a purchase or transfer. We don't need to move it, only change its settings.

An old security setting on the domain.

Some domains have a setting (DNSSEC) that must be switched off a day or two before the change. We check and tell you if yours does.

The partners need to see it first.

Forward the preview link. One person approves, so feedback doesn't go in circles.

It's harvest, or the holidays.

We keep building while you're busy. Your preview link stays up for 30 days, and we follow up once, gently.

We don't have good photos or a logo file.

We work from your label art and phone photos, cut your logo from the label, and mark any spot that needs a better photo.

We want to sell bottles on the site.

Sales, shipping and age checks belong with a licensed service. We link to yours, or point you to options if you don't have one.

Marketing plan setup

Three invites, about 20 minutes.

You keep ownership of every account. We get access to post and reply for you. You choose: approve each post, or let us run it hands-off.

  • Google listing

Add us as a manager of your Google Business Profile.

No listing, or someone else claimed it? We start the request on day one. Google's ownership requests and verification can take a week or more.
  • Facebook and Instagram

Give us access to your Facebook Page, with Instagram linked to it.

Instagram must be a business or creator account. If a former employee is the only admin, we help with Meta's access request.
  • Newsletter

Invite us to your newsletter tool, or we set one up in your name.

An old list in a spreadsheet gets one "still want to hear from us?" email first, so you stay within email law.

Several locations? Each has its own Google listing and verification, so we set them up one by one. Your first month of posts is drafted while the invites go through.

  • Cancel with one email. You're never charged again.
  • Your domain stays in your name.
  • We send you your domain's settings, so your email keeps working wherever you go next.
